Even though these sites bill themselves as "Hike of the Month" or "Hike of the Week" sites, only a couple update monthly. There are still some very good writeups available in these, and hopefully the authors will again begin to write.
- Arizona Highways Hike of the Month
- Excellent page. Would you expect less from Arizona Highways? Follow the "Hike of the Month" link on this page to find the latest hike. At the bottom of the "Hike of the Month" page you will find links to archives of past featured hikes.
- Central Mountains and Prescott Area Trail of the Month
on 10/8/03
- Hikes around the Prescott and Sedona areas. The author of this website, Ron Smith, has written many outdoor columns for newspapers in Central Arizona as well as a couple of trail guide books for Central Arizona, with "A Guide to Prescott and Central Highlands Trails" as his latest effort.
- Jim's Hike of The Week
- Excellent descriptions of five hikes. Name of this page is a little deceiving as there are only 7 entries from 6/95 to 5/00, but all are very well done. I wish there were more of these type of web pages out there - and certainly wish that this was updated with a new hike each week.
- Out There Articles
- The Tucson Weekly used to provide well-written outdoor articles each week. I have accumulated their archives, that pertain to hiking in Arizona, on this page.
