Workout Location

The A's work out at the Papago Baseball Complex. This is a newly constructed site located on the northwest corner of Galvin Parkway and McDowell Road. From Phoenix Municipal, drive north on Priest/Galvin (this road changes names somewhere in the mix). This is one of the most scenic drives you can find in metropolitan Phoenix as it takes you through the mysterious and unique rock formations of Papago Park.

This is the finest practice facility I've seen, and now I can understand why the other clubs are clamoring for improvements. And it's a dream from a fan's point of view. The scenery is fantastic (it's nestled in the Papagos), the landscaping is beautiful, the facilites are new, the restrooms are cleaner than your own, and fencing is designed more for practical purposes rather than fan restriction. The players criss-cross all over the compound from one field to another and the clubhouse. I'm not into autographs, but it generally looks like the players are too busy to sign...maybe not if you can catch them going into the clubhouse.

In March, after the Spring Training season begins, this site becomes the minor league camp. The players work out before games at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
