Dear Supporters:

Enclosed is a ticket order form for 1996 Spring Training at Compadre Stadium with all the necessary instructions and information to obtain the 1996 tickets. Additionally, if you would like to turn your mail order in at the Stadium, you may do so beginning Jan. 10th between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to assure that your application for tickets is entered into the mail process for that day. All tickets will be processed based on the date the ticket orders were received.

Last year the Chandler Compadres informed you that the future of Brewer's Spring Training was seriously in doubt. We unfortunately must tell you that the Chandler Mayor and City Council never completed agreements with the Brewers, Compadres, or the County. On November 21st, the County Stadium District approved funding for the construction of a new facility for the Milwaukee Brewers in west Phoenix.

It is disheartening for the Compadres to lose such a valuable resource for our community and the charitable dollars you and the Brewers have helped us raise for kids. In February, 1995 the City asked us to negotiate a contract with the Brewers. We did, ... and the City rejected it in June.

The Brewers and the Stadium District have been extremely cooperative in trying to work out an arrangement in Chandler but every time we offered options or suggested ideas, we had continuous road blocks put before us by the Chandler Mayor and City Council.

Many of you wrote and called our elected officials at this same time last year and throughout 1995. They received hundreds and hundreds of cards and calls. We thank you for that effort. We asked you to tell them, "if you lose this opportunity now you will be known as "the city that lost the Brewers"." Well, they've made that come true.
