Kelly Brown and Debrah Kalman became very good friends.
Kelly Brown was 23-years-old when Hey Dude began,
while the other kids were 17. Plus, Kelly had been an international model
and seen much of the world. She was very sophisticated and mature and not
unlike Brad, personality wise. Debrah Kalman wasn't much older, in her late
20s I believe. So the two of them became fast friends and remained that way
long after Hey Dude wrapped production. As a matter of fact, the day I
interviewed Kelly Brown she had just received a letter in the mail from
Debrah that included pictures of Debrah's new baby (This as best I can recall
was in 1993, but don't hold me to that).
