Well, it's certainly been a while between updates. Even though nothing has happened with Hey Dude's status (it's still cancelled, and reruns are nowhere to be found), I'm sitting on a lot of material that needs posting.

To get into the swing of things, I'm posting a new Kelly Brown photo. This image is one of those legendary picture frame photos we've all heard about. A big thanks to Brian from Tampa for sending the photo along. Click on the the thumbnail to see the full size image.

Hey Dude fan Alan Locke skunked out the actual sets at the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch and submitted these revealing photos. Well, I too had the pleasure of staying at the ranch as a guest, and thanks to Alan, I too was able to find the sets. What can I say, it was a fun find, but what a mess! It's official: Christine Taylor and Ben Stiller are married! Here's a short article from the on-line version of People magazine:

For actor Ben Stiller, there's something about Christine. PEOPLE has learned that Stiller, 34, wed Christine Taylor, 28, (Marcia in "The Brady Bunch Movie") on Saturday at an oceanfront residence on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Stiller's parents, Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller ("Seinfeld"), were in Hawaii for the occasion. The couple became engaged last November, following broken engagements with others (Stiller to actress Jeanne Tripplehorn and Taylor to director Jason Bloom). They met when Taylor appeared in a TV pilot produced by Stiller.

Here's an older People magazine article about the engagement. It confirms the marriage proposal story Ben Stiller spoke about on Howard Stern's radio show. It also reveals two little tidbits for those of you that need to know everything:

Christine Taylor's dog is named Kahlua.
She did not make the Allentown Central Catholic High School cheerleading squad.

David Lascher Returns to TV

David Lascher has a recurring TV series role on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. From ABC's official web site: David Lascher stars as Josh, a graduate student who runs a coffee house and becomes the object of Sabrina's affections, on ABC's "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," now entering its fourth hit season. Sabrina stars Mellisa Joan Hart, another Nickelodeon alumnus. Sabrina airs on ABC every Friday at 9PM.

And Did He Visit the Altar?

According to The Unofficial David Lascher Home Page, David Lascher was recently married! Here's the blurb: In real life, (which is almost as important as TV life) David just got married, in what was, by all accounts, a splendid event, with a good time had by all!

I can't verify this from any other news sources, but it doesn't seem unreasonable. If true, more congratulations are in order!

So, what is this "Hey Dude"?

Hey Dude...the most underrated television program in the history of the medium!

Hey Dude aired on the Nickelodeon cable network for three years (1989-1991). It all took place on the Bar None Dude Ranch, and it chronicled the adventures of its bumbling owner and teenage staff. Hey Dude is ostensibly a children's show, but it continues to provide great entertainment that all ages appreciate.

Sixty-five 30-minute episodes were produced in the three years. Hey Dude was filmed entirely on location in Tucson, Arizona. Despite the production and air dates, the series seems takes place during one long, continuous summer at the ranch.

Hey Dude lives today in the form of weekly re-runs on Nickelodeon, although currently it is not on Nick's lineup. (The last episode aired Saturday, January 23, 1999). Most of today's small group of fans are remnants from the initial airing viewership, or the daily late afternoon reruns that followed shortly after production ended.
