The Manure Pile
Hey Dude Bloopers
|
This section is Dan Flynn's idea. Think of it as a general "Horse Droppings" section, or concentrated horse droppings. It contains not only production bloopers, but inconsistencies, continuity problems, or items of interest to look for in certain episodes.
All the blooper titles come from the mind of Dan Flynn. |

GHOSTS OF BAR NONE
Episode 1 "Day One at the Bar None" by Dan Flynn |
In one scene where Mr. Ernst and melody are having a conversation, you can hear, faintly, talking. i'm not sure who it is or what its doing there but my guess is its the crew of the show (directors, producers, etc.) talking to each other when it was suppose to be edited out. see if you can find it. |

MELODY'S 2 BIRTHDAYS!
Episodes 2 & 64 by Dan Flynn |
In episode 2, when Danny asks Melody when her birthday is, she tells him her birthday is in March.....then all the way into episode 64, Ted brings melody a gift, and she tells him that her birthday isn't till July! Hmmm.... |
|
THE SPYING VLECK?
Episode 23 "Superstar" by Dan Flynn |
During the episode, a reviewer from a well respected dude ranch publication is secretely evaluating the ranch. Well, when the special guest is revealed, it's not hard to notice but he is really Vic Vleck, from the competing Snake Eyes Ranch! OK, it's really the same actor, Paul R. Secrest, playing a different character. |

KIDS FROM THE PAST
Episode 47 by Dan Flynn |
In the scene where Ted is getting ready to surprise Melody with his surprise return to the ranch, we see Melody working with two kids, tell them they'll do something else the next day. Anyway, the two kids have been in past episodes. The boy was one of the nagging guests that kept asking Melody weird questions when she had the brief role of "Answer Man"...the episode # i don't remember. I think this boy is also part of the Vlecks softball team in episode 33. And the girl has also appeared in other episodes. i'm not exactly sure if i'm right, but i think she was the girl Noelle who ted is left to babysit in episode 24. |

RETURNING BAD GUY
Episodes 18 & 48 by Dan Flynn |
The bank robbing pilot that crashes his plane at the Bar None also doubles as the greedy archaeologist in episode 48. |
|
REVENGE OF MISS ANDREWS
Episode 57 & 20 "Baby" & "Teacher's Pest" by Dan Flynn |
The no brained mother of baby Fleeman in episode 57 is Lara Innes, who also starred as ted's high school english teacher...Miss Andrews in episode 20. |
|
THE UNSEEN BUMP
Episode 65 "War" by Dan Flynn |
This isn't major but just something interesting I noticed.....At the end of this episode as both Ted's capture the flag team and Brad's team head for the flagpole, ted and brad bang heads as we can tell from the bandages they wear later. well if you watch closely...their heads never actually even come close to each other! they just kinda bang arms.! |

MELODY'S BULGE
Episode 16 "Our Little Champion" by Mike |
In episode 16, Our Little Champion, as Melody runs the stairs by the
lake, you can see a bulge on her back. This is an RF mic pack which was
attatched to her bra strap (a common place to attatch them).
Ed. note: "RF" means, I think, radio frequency, i.e., a wireless microphone. Ha, put those boom operators out of business. |
|
THE PHANTOM WIRE
Episode 17 "Bunkmate Battle" by Mike |
In the episode where Brad and Melody
are having a fight as bunkmates: There is a scene where Brad is trying
to read and Melody is doing aerobics. As Melody gets more active and
jumps around more you start to see a wire creep up around her neck.
Another RF mic blooper.
I am an audio engineer in television and I just notice these things. |

BAD MOUTH BRAD
Episode 64 "Double Date" by Emily
|
In the episode where Melody and Brad double date with Kyle
and Ted, watch Brad very carefully. You will see the four of them standing in
the doorway of the girls cabin getting into a fight about how much money the
guys have... as Kyle and Ted run to the car deciding who's going to drive,
Melody says something snotty to Brad and then runs to the car... you can
notice Brad mouthing something almost silently.. and I turned up the volume
and listened VERY hard to find that she says ~~ get this ~~ Bitchy Whore!! I
know, I didn't believe it either, but she does!!
Ed. note: Though this makes sensational copy, upon further review, I highly doubt that "bitchy whore" was actually said. In the scene, Melody says, "Brad, I wouldn't miss it for the world." It's my guess that Brad replies under her breath, "I bet you wouldn't." I mean, Christine Taylor is right in front of her when this happens. Kelly Brown couldn't be that crazy, even if Christine was a "batch o' wood"...er, "bleachy wool"...well, you know... |

OFF-BALANCE TED
Episode 64 "Double Date" by Emily |
And here's one more, later in that same episode, though not as exciting ~ while Brad lines up to hit the ball (while they play mini-golf) Ted tries to balance on his golf club and slides, almost falling. |
|
QUICK CUT
Episode 20 "Teacher's Pest"
|
This was discussed on the Kyle's "Hey Dude"/Kelly Brown message board many moons ago. In Kelly Brown and Christine Taylor's teaser scene by the pool, the director apparently yells "Cut!" a little too soon. As the credits start to roll in, you see both actresses turn their heads to their left. Then Kelly breaks into a smile while Christine kind of puts on a squinty grimace. | |||||||||

RECYCLED SETS
Episode 33 & 41 "Dueling Ranches" & "Ride, She Said" |
One of the few remaining landmarks of the Bar None Ranch is the main riding arena at the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch. This arena was used first as the baseball diamond for the game played against the Vlecks' Snake Eyes Ranch. Later, the arena became the T.R.O.T. facility where handicapped kids rode horses. The stands from where Brad watches the kids ride were the same bleachers used in the baseball game. When they say this show was shot entirely on location, they mean it. |
