Personal
Warning! A lot of this material has not been looked over, and might be offensive. I've done my best to limit offensive material, but I know I've missed some things. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Taglines
Taglines, known as fortunes by many UNIX users, are simply small jokes and quotes. These things are are all over the net.
Well, I somehow have managed to collect hundreds of
thousands of taglines (well, over 2000 anyway), and I figured the net community might benefit
more from them than I do. So I put them up, and I'm slowly sorting
them out as I have time. Anyhow, there's a lot of stuff here,
and some of it might be offensive. I just don't know.
I've got two sections currently. The first section includes all the
taglines I've collected off the net. The second section includes
many of the taglines included in the UNIX "fortune" program.
My Collection
Over a period of years I've gathered these taglines up from
all over. The files that have names of subjects are sorted (mostly), and
those with confusing, non-descriptive names are not. All clear? Good. :-)
The Fortunes
These are straight out of the UNIX fortunes.
Tagline Picker
I've written a very simple perl script that reads
taglines from standard input, separated by "%" signs, and displays a
randomly selcted tagline. Get it here.
Text-ified Taglines
I have text-based copies of my taglines available for download here. They're gzipped, and have '%' signs
between each fortune, and they're pefect for use with my tagline picker.
