Who Am I?
I happen to be Chuck Sharp. I'm 18 years old, I
live in Phoenix, Arizona, and, most importantly, I'm a geek.
Yup, I was hometaught. It was pretty cool... As of recently I
have my GED. I'm also currently in the middle of my fifth semester
at Paradise Valley Community
College. I also uses to work in the IBM computer lab at PVCC
as a lab assistant and tutor Now I work at the Computer Services
department at PVCC. Nobody knows what my title is. We think I'm
either a Network Technician, or an Assistant System Administrator.
I'm a geeky computer nut. I've been using computers since I was
about 10 years old. I've gone from Win 3.1 to DOS to Win95 to OS/2
to Linux. I think I'll stay with Linux for a while. Anyway, I do as
much different stuff on computers as I can. I do some programming in
Perl, C, C++, shell scripting, etc. I experiment with web authoring
all the time. I've recently begun to experiment with graphics stuff,
and I'm loving it! And of course, I play games. Linux games, mostly.
I'm an amateur radio operator. I'm a ham :-). Specifically,
I hold a technician class license which I received in January,
1996. I rather enjoy the fact that I don't have rely on phones. It's
cool. If I need to get in touch with someone, no matter where
I am, I can usually pull out my beutiful little radio and call
them. If the other person isn't a ham, I can call them over the
phone by connecting to a radio station known as an autopatch. My
dad has been a ham for a long time, and he finally convinced my
brother Chris and I to get our licenses.
I've was a boy scout in troop 226 for about 7 years, and I just
received my rank of Eagle Scout on January 14, 1999. I am currently
and Assistant Scoutmaster. I'm also a vice-president of Explorer
Post 599, which is primarily a ham radio post.
My brother began practicing taekwondo around December 95. He
earned his black belt about a year ago. Anyway, after a year of watching
him learn how to beat me up, I decided to join in the fun. I've
been practicing for about two and half years now, and I received my
rank of 1st degree decided black belt in October 1998. I also just
became a Trainee Instructor.
My Life Story So
Far (Condensed Form)
I was born in Glendale Arizona, and lived there until I was three.
Then we all moved up to Washington state for about four years. Not
much happened the first seven years of my life... Anywho, after that,
we moved back down to Phoenix, AZ. Been livin' here ever since. My
parents started teaching me at home right before we moved to Arizona.
(about second grade). During the next seven years, nothing happened.
For about five months in 1994 the Borg had assimilated me into their
collective (see picture) but my geekiness was spreading throughout
the collective. Borg were seen taking apart their cybernetic arms
just to see how they work. Well, the Borg got tired of having to buy
all new limbs for the units just because the "warranty void if seal is broken"
sticker was broken, so they returned me to my usual life. There are no side effects,
except sometimes I try to jam my finger into my computer's keyboard
port.
A while after that, I decided I didn't know anything, so I started
going to Paradise Valley Community College. I've completed two years
there so far. I've been working at the college doing all sorts of
different stuff, all computer related.
All the other "interesting" stuff is at the top of the page, I
think...
Still awake? Woah, I'm shocked! Well, sorry about all of that, but I sure
do feel better now...
Contacting Me
I have a page with information on contacting me here.
My Resume
I have my resume up for the world
to see. It may actually give you a deeper insight into my life. I hope
it doesn't though, for your sake. :-)
My Old Pages
I have here the homepage that I once called mine. I keep it to
compare with, and also because there's still some interesting stuff
there. It's mostly nostalgia though. :-)
My Bookmarks
This one's mostly for my utility. I have my bookmark file uploaded every time
I connect to the Net. This way I can retrieve my bookmarks away from home.
