Thank you so much for stopping by. If you haven't heard of us or don't know what we do, our primary goal is to provide resources for people to educate others about our community. We believe that a continued commitment to public education is essential for changing the public's attitudes -- as well as the people around you.
An educated and informed public will help create a more positive and supportive environment for all, regardless of sexual orientation:
Grass roots education arranged through our Speakers Bureau at local high schools, colleges and social services agencies.
Support of public education efforts in small towns and rural areas through the development and distribution of our Educational Resource Guide to provide local activists with quality materials.
Constant work with the media to ensure accurate, unbiased coverage of gay and lesbian issues and distribution of our television public service announcements nationally.
Production and distribution of thousands of educational brochures to support individuals and organizations in their own campaigns against homophobia.
Sponsorship of the highly successful conference "Affirming Sexual Diversity: Meeting the Needs of Lesbian and Gay Youth" for school administrators, teachers and others who work with gay and lesbian youth.
The Awareness Project is proud of all our accomplishments. However, much work still needs to be done. The Awareness Project is a national nonprofit [501(c)3] educational organization founded in 1987 to achieve comprehensive equality for lesbians and gay men.
