Episode Details

This section here, when done, will contain a detailed synopsis for every Hey Dude episode produced and aired. Not many television series fan sites can boast that kind of comprehensive coverage, so the plan is admittedly ambitious. Still, as a group effort, it is an very doable task.

To read any episode detail, jump over to the Episode Guide and click any lthe horseshoe by the title name. If there is no horseshoe, then no detail has yet been posted for that episode.

You'll note that I've tried to adhere to a certain structure for every Episode Detail. This can certainly be subject ot change. Down the road, more sections may be added, like poll-based ratings, etc.

Credits
The vital production info, including guest actors and writing/direction credits.

Characters, in order of appearance
The appearing characters, including guest characters, as they appear.

Plot Synopsis
The meat of every Episode Detail. Some will be more detailed than others, depending on the contributor and episode. Don't read the synopsis if you later want to watch the episode "cold", as spoilers will be abundant. Sometimes you'll see links in the text. These are keyed to the Hey Dude Reference that appears in the frame below. Clicking on a topic in the synopsis will cause the Reference to jump to its corresponding entry.

Sub-plot
Almost every Hey Dude had a sub-plot, or a side story incidental and perhaps tangentially intertwined with the main story. These usually involve one of Mr. Ernst's nutty schemes. The sub-plot is summarized here.

Quotes
This section started as a memorial to the clever barbs Brad often hurled in Ted's direction. But now, it contains key scripted dialog or memorable quips from each program.

Bradwatch
This is an important section as it covers Brad's good looks. What is she wearing? How is she wearing it? This is critical information you will not find on any competing Hey Dude web site!

Horse Droppings
This space is reserved for editorial comments. A lot of times these will cover any notable trivia, gaffes, likes or dislikes about a scene or character -- just about anything! Note -- anyone can add a horse dropping for any episode. Just e-mail me and I'll post it (credited with your name/address unless otherwise instructed).

Real-Life References
Many times Hey Dude will mention something that exists in real life. They'll be listed here. If I feel ambitious enough, they'll be linked to the Hey Dude Reference in the frame below.

Other Important Notes

These epsiode details have evolved quite a bit from where they started. Generally, you now find a lot of scripted dialog, a lot of images, and a much nicer format. There are two important byproducts of this evolution:

  1. The increase in bandwidth has forced me to offload newer details to the Xoom server. That's the reason for the Xoom banner across such pages, and also the reason why load performance may not be consistent as you go from one detail to the next (my experience is that the Xoom pages take longer to initiate). Also, some of the links contained within the Xoomed details may be busted or ill-behaved. One of these days, I'll have to validate all those links. It doesn't help that the ever-growing reference has been chopped into multiple files to keep them managable.

  2. Content aside, the new details, especially the ones contributed by Wanda McKelvy, make the old details look...well, let's say, not as thorough. The bottom line is that the episode details vary wildly in appearance and quality, in both the graphical and content sense. It'll be a long term goal to enforce some consistency on the details. Perhaps some of the existing details will be re-done, filled in, fleshed out, whatever. To some extent, it's been done, as a few old details have been retrofitted with the new look without altering any content.
